Now that the long transit of Mars has finished with your social and worldly connections you may feel a growing sense of confidence! You may also feel as if you have to put on a better front to accommodate demand. Virgo is not at all happy at having to fake it, as a usual rule. But it could be that you bit off more than you could chew in March or April!

Let’s suppose you didn’t do that, and let’s suppose that the April negotiations were brave but honest!? Then there is no reason not to expect July and August to meet expectations and offer you the means to change cramped or restricted choices and circumstances. These may be domestic or they may be emotional, but they won’t be completely redefined until the end of this year. However, to make the right arrangements as a prelude to transformation is vital if you’re not to merely take pot luck later on. So begin designs now.

The presence of Saturn in your sign is boding well for campaigns with long-term causes, but the pause of Jupiter through the other earth sign of capricorn until September bids you sort out the difference between what you really can do with a gladness of heart, and what you see as a duty to be undertaken stoically. The difference may not alter the demands made but can alter your attitude towards them quite significantly, which in turn could modify problematic application.

The end of May and the first half of June sees your ruler Mercury retrograde in it’s other sign of gemini. So there will be loose ends or loose connections during that time, and you have to decide what to do about them. There could also be mixed messages to decipher after the event.

The middle of July is the time to be more daring when expressing difficult or sensitive opinions emerging from these complexities, because then the danger of stand-offs or reversals is passing, leaving you with the goodwill and respect you need in August to break ground into more influential groups, or more lucrative pastures.

The late summer is most definitely your best time, but don’t be in hurry to reach conclusions. What emerges from June in terms of opportunities or sudden chances to cut new roads can be undone by being too pedantic or (heaven forbid) too critical, in August.

Remember, Virgo, that although you have that knack of being far seeing, others prefer to remain happy in their short-sightedness! And to point out their folly before they are ready to listen is to alienate them unnecessarily. It isn't a matter of whether you are right or wrong - it's a case of whether you are in a position to voice opinion. Now that Saturn is set on a straightforward and fuller transit of your sign you will be more sure of certain people and facts, and less inclined to doubting yourself where they are concerned. Continue to just be who you are and don’t try to alter your strategy if it has already paid off. The sun at the beginning of September making a superb aspect to Jupiter is bringing assurance and substance to efforts and plans of the spring and summer months.

Autumn update

With all the smaller planets in Libra in your solar second house in September there are bound to be some annoying or confusing hick-ups in financial matters, especially at the end of the month while Mercury is retrograde again. But the upside shows a decided increase in popularity or social connection, some of it a little costly and indulgent. But the appropriate mountains can be scaled if the investment is made towards the right ends and the correct measures. And the recouping of expenditure comes in the summer and autumn of 2009.

There is also the possibility of investment for it’s own sake and that too is something to be considered when the right kind of venture or stake reveals itself, as it might in late October, but don’t use money earmarked for something else - if the ‘readies’ are not to hand then by-pass the option. It may come round again in the February/March of 2009.

Some of the more enjoyable parts of your life are hard-won this year. Jupiter through capricorn gives very little quarter for casual or frivolous living. It’s true to say that this does not bode well for shortcuts and the planet in question underlines this by making heavy weather of some of the tasks you had hoped to undertake as labours of love. But the support network you have gathered around you by the third week of October proves vital as November arrives and it can be relied upon to rally round and help when necessary, lifting your spirits when they flag. It is also true that you don’t know who your friends are until times like these.

Having said a lot previously about the arrival of the planet Saturn in your sign, we would like to add that it still cannot be ignored. But the better news is that as it enters the second deconate of virgo in late August it relents somewhat in it’s rigourous demands and allows a slower or more manageable pace to what previously has been a marathon. By the time Jupiter begins a forward motion again in September these two factors have gone a long way to easing your pressures and allowing a security and a dispersal in matters where your personal view and expression is called upon to help find solutions to the problems of loved ones, or to the fractured ends of relationship turmoil and trouble.

It has not been an easy year for you, Virgo, but as it draws to a close you can rest easier in your mind about matters to which there is not just one solution, and for which you do not have to be totally responsible. Much as you would like to be able to carry the weight of everyone’s burdens it is apparent to you that you mostly cannot. So to be able to point to an alternative which can do this means a shift in anxiety and a more settled phase.
