PRESENT OUTLOOK

New Year 2010

Mars hurries through your sign for the first half of its journey until mid December, and is bound to arouse, awaken or alert you to the more dangerous areas of your impulses and desires. In January when some hard facts come tumbling out of the wash, it may be good to remember that sometimes there is the call for 'tough love'. Someone you care for creates a situation in which you don't know whether to support them or condemn them. The ‘tough' part comes in not condoning their actions and in this you are actually supporting them in the long run. If this applies to a situation you can recognise it's because you are ready to move beyond the confines of where the situation has brought you so far - which is perhaps an impasse - to a healthier and more progressive place. But the first stop is balance. And the reversals made between January and March can ensure that the balance, however temporary, can become a stable fixture for June.

The second half of the Mars-through-Leo journey begins in March and it tends to finish what was begun in late October but halted just before Christmas. Fairly strong measures are called for, or at least strong feelings. This accent on your intimate life is supplemented by the transit of Jupiter through pisces - lasting only until June .. one very quick return signifying a marked need to hear what others say but then to see whether they deliver, and what they deliver. It is worth noting that the aim should be independence within plans by the time June arrives. If this is not the case then the whole thing has to be revised between September and January 2011. Independence is the necessary ingredient if you are to eventually split a responsibility or a duty equally and subsequently halve the time and energy invested. And this is not possible if you are joined at the hip with someone, or you are so reliant on others that all progress is refined to a fixed and generic time scale.

We know that Valentine's Day falls in February but, this notwithstanding, the days around then and following into the third week of the month are ones which can be very romantic for you. Lots of idealistic possibilities, so bask in the warmth of that, and then get grounded for the end of the month and ready to drag something into a new dimension of reality and practicality as March unfolds. Or there will not be the cohesion you figured on in April, but instead a clunky sort of movement forward. Saturn retrogrades back into virgo in April for the best part of four months and will require a resettling of assets or debts left over from the autumn of 2009 before a better basis is formed for the schemes set up or tried out between November last and January to March this year. There is a solid and gradual movement to the way things are laid, which bodes well for the long-term but cautions walking before running - blazoned in red paint. June is the more go-ahead month, with the popularity and acceptance factor to back it up. 2010 is the time to share plans with others that can be built separately but may prove jointly or mutually beneficial or useful. Going it alone and going in a spirit of co-operation is a tricky balance, but offers the best yield.

May Update

Now that Mars is on the last leg of the almost eight month journey through your sign since last year, the chances are you are either rejuvenated and there's no stopping you, or you are just a little cowed by what has taken place since then and questioning your former ways or beliefs. The thing is, you either see where the false values lie or these very same values have flattened you by courtesy of their hidden repercussions, which of course are hidden no longer. If it is the latter you will naturally need some time to regroup and get your bearings before you see all too clearly how not to repeat some of the arrangements and options that lead to it. There are very few leos who do not invite others to depend on them in some way, and there are very few leos who do not relish the thought of being central to the nub of matters, whether these be family or business or social. The differentiating factor between all of this is how you've been personally coping and feeling within some very restrictive situations; now is well past the point of where you should consider throwing in the towel, if you've not been fairing well.

The most important planetary news is the movement of Uranus into aries in June. Not just because this marks the end of a seven year chapter but becaue it forms part of a major aspect already in existence between Saturn and Pluto. The results are to say the least remarkable. The fact that Jupiter walks a little way with Uranus until Uranus backs off in August - albeit temporarily - means that there is for a while a safe access to new routes while Jupiter is present in June and July. It is like having a tour guide in a place you never went before. If you get lost it's your own fault. It's showing you the best way through changing and interesting times. There are, in June and July, the cutting of ties, the breaking of bonds and the forging of new ones in places forming the basis of radically different sorts of working and professional practises. Or just in lieu of certain kinds of security in which you placed faith.

For many, there are financial changes which are not of the usual nature and evolve from a need to be perhaps more forward looking or more independent. There are various possibilities in the area of your working and vocational life and where this impacts on your every day living and routine. The Mercury retrograde motion happening between the middle of April and the second week of May will set the scene for some turn about in career or worldly events which sees you having a clearer idea of what is likely to yield fruits and what is not, by the end of May. But the choices you make in June are what really help to support the way through to more creative or more enjoyable forms of financial planning. (Financial planning being either a happy method of spending or a need to count every penny). And there has to be some anti-climax wherever you are and whatever you have in the bank as July folds and August get underway. However, keep in mind that every anti-climax is a way of forcing you back to the drawing board and not simply an end in itself. It may be November/December before some curfew or restrictive practise is lifted from your habitual routine and you can begin to get more comfortable with the visions you had in spring this year. The spring time is a challenge to take a different view of the usual path before you can fully understand it in 2011.
